ABOUT RUBY POWELL-DENNIS
Ruby currently serves as the Founder and Executive of Elect Black Women PAC, a political action committee focusing on electing Black women to every level of government. Previously, Ruby served as National Deputy Director of the Leaders of Color Initiative at Education Reform Now (ERN). Ruby is also an active candidate for TN State Senate – District 31 and a former campaign manager to Marquita Bradshaw for US Senate in 2020.
Ruby serves the Memphis community as a former Board Member for the Junior League of Memphis, a member of the Board of Directors at Leadership Preparatory Charter School, and a Census 2020 Complete Count subcommittee member. Ruby was recognized as a member of the Memphis Business Journal 2018 “40 Under 40” class and 2018 Outstanding Young Alumnus for the Fogelman College of Business at The University of Memphis. In addition to her local service, Ruby actively serves on several state and national governance boards.
Ruby is a proud alumna of The University of Florida where she studied Advertising, Political Science and minored in Secondary Education. Ruby completed her Master of Arts in Organizational Communication at Southeastern Louisiana University and her Master’s in Business Administration at The University of Memphis. Ruby is married and has two children under 5.

The Art of Media Relations master class will be a crash course in formulating and then disseminating your campaign messaging and narrative to a wide-range of constituencies through the media. Participants will discuss both proactive and reactive communications strategies and how to translate media coverage into votes.
Master Class: Get Out the Vote!
A successful get out the vote effort is a campaign’s equation to win. GOTV is a major, labor intensive, and exciting operation in a campaign’s final days, but the planning starts months earlier. This class will cover best practices in identifying leaders, planning for contingencies, and executing tasks down to the wire.
Campaign Class: Volunteer Management
Volunteers are the beating heart of your campaign. Engagement and momentum are the key ingredients that will keep everything moving. This workshop will go over types of volunteering, tactics to keep your “entourage” enthusiastic, ways to prevent campaign burnout, and more!
Campaign Class: Demystifying Digital Advertising
Nothing reaches a targeted voter better than a digital ad. From retargeting pixels to geofencing, this class will simplify the technical complexities. You will leave focused on the metrics that matter most: Reaching your voters with a winning message.
