Katie Prisco-Buxbaum

Democratic Campaign Operative

Katie Prisco-Buxbaum is a trusted veteran of Massachusetts, California, and national politics with a record of running competitive progressive campaigns, primarily for women and people of color. In her decade on the frontlines of the toughest political fights, Katie has been a trusted adviser and confidant to progressive leaders and causes. Katie was Campaign Manager for Andrea Campbell’s Boston mayoral campaign, Democrat Jesse Mermell’s campaign for the Massachusetts 4th Congressional District, and managed Campbell’s heralded first campaign for City Council in 2015, which led to the defeat of 32-year incumbent Councilor Charles Yancey. Katie served in senior finance roles for United States Senator Kamala Harris’ presidential campaign, California Governor Gavin Newsom’s 2018 gubernatorial campaign and Senator Harris’ 2016 U.S. Senate campaign. Katie lives in Boston and is an alumna of Emerson College.

In this class we will discuss various positions on political campaigns, how to design the optimal organizational structure for your campaign, the importance of culture building on a campaign team, and common campaign team pitfalls that could impact your race.
